GossipOpi is building an entertainment publication for readers who want the biggest stories without the unnecessary buildup.

We cover celebrity news, movies, television, music, royals, pop culture, social media, and the stories everyone suddenly starts talking about.

Our editorial philosophy is simple:

Verify it. Understand it. Get to the point.

If that sounds like the kind of newsroom you want to work with, we’d like to hear from you.

Who We’re Looking For

We are interested in hearing from talented people across entertainment media, including:

  • Entertainment writers
  • Breaking-news reporters
  • Celebrity news contributors
  • Movies and television writers
  • Music writers
  • Royal family contributors
  • Pop-culture writers
  • Social-media and trends reporters
  • Researchers
  • Editors
  • Freelance contributors
  • Visual-content creators
  • Audience and social-media specialists

Experience is valuable, but strong judgment, reliability, curiosity, and an instinct for news matter just as much.

What Makes a Strong GossipOpi Contributor?

The best GossipOpi contributors know how to move quickly without becoming careless.

We look for people who can:

  • Identify a strong entertainment story
  • Verify important facts
  • Find the original source whenever possible
  • Distinguish reporting from rumor
  • Write clean, direct copy
  • Create strong headlines without misleading readers
  • Understand celebrity and entertainment culture
  • Follow developing stories closely
  • Work independently
  • Meet deadlines
  • Accept editing and feedback
  • Respect copyright and attribution standards

Above all, contributors should care about getting the story right.

Our Writing Style

GossipOpi does not believe readers should have to search through five paragraphs to discover why they clicked.

Our stories should be:

Clear. Fast. Accurate. Interesting.

We favor concise, high-impact headlines that tell readers what happened.

A headline can be dramatic.

It cannot be dishonest.

Writers should be comfortable cutting unnecessary filler while still giving readers the context they need to understand the story.

Accuracy Is Non-Negotiable

Entertainment reporting is full of anonymous claims, rumors, recycled reports, misleading social posts, and rapidly changing stories.

That makes verification essential.

Contributors are expected to:

  • Check names, dates, quotes, and basic facts
  • Use credible sources
  • Prioritize primary sources when available
  • Attribute reporting properly
  • Clearly label allegations or unconfirmed claims
  • Avoid presenting speculation as fact
  • Flag uncertainty to editors
  • Correct mistakes when identified

Speed never excuses fabrication or careless reporting.

Freelance Contributors

GossipOpi may work with freelance writers and contributors on a story-by-story, assignment, or ongoing basis.

Freelance opportunities may include coverage of:

  • Celebrity breaking news
  • Movies
  • Television
  • Streaming
  • Music
  • Royals
  • Reality TV
  • Pop culture
  • Social-media trends
  • Major entertainment events

Assignments, rates, deadlines, and rights will be discussed before work begins when applicable.

Submitting an application or pitch does not guarantee an assignment.

Story Pitches

We welcome strong entertainment story ideas.

A good pitch should quickly explain:

  • What happened
  • Why it matters now
  • Why GossipOpi readers will care
  • What sources are available
  • What your angle would be

Please do not send a 1,000-word explanation of a story that can be pitched in six sentences.

The pitch itself should demonstrate that you understand the GossipOpi approach.

What to Send

If you are interested in writing for GossipOpi, please include:

  • Your name
  • Your location or time zone
  • Areas of expertise
  • A short introduction
  • Relevant writing or reporting experience

  • Topics you would most like to cover
  • Your general availability
  • Whether you are interested in freelance, part-time, or other opportunities

We are also interested in people who may be stronger behind the scenes.

Potential editorial and research responsibilities may include:

  • Fact-checking
  • Source verification

  • Story research
  • Monitoring developing stories
  • Identifying original sources

Attention to detail is particularly important for these roles.

Social Media and Audience Roles

Entertainment news does not stop at the website.

GossipOpi may also consider contributors with experience in:

  • Instagram
  • Facebook
  • Threads
  • X
  • Bluesky
  • TikTok
  • Pinterest
  • YouTube
  • Social graphics
  • Audience development

We are particularly interested in people who understand how to package a story for different platforms without turning accurate reporting into misleading clickbait.

Relevant experience may include:

  • Entertainment photography
  • Editorial graphics
  • Social-media graphics
  • News cards
  • Photo editing
  • Illustration
  • Video editing
  • Short-form video

Applicants should only submit work they own or are authorized to share.

Equal Opportunity

GossipOpi evaluates contributors based on their ability to perform the work and contribute meaningfully to the publication.

We welcome applications from qualified candidates with different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and locations.

Remote Opportunities

Many GossipOpi roles and freelance assignments may be performed remotely.

Because entertainment news can develop at any hour, availability across different time zones can be valuable.

Specific scheduling expectations will depend on the role.

Unsolicited Submissions

Please do not submit completed articles unless requested.

We may not be able to respond to every unsolicited submission or application.

Submitting an idea does not create an employment, freelance, confidential, or contractual relationship with GossipOpi.

Editorial Independence

Contributors must disclose significant conflicts of interest involving people, companies, organizations, products, or stories they cover.

GossipOpi contributors should not accept undisclosed payments, gifts, or other benefits in exchange for favorable editorial treatment.

Advertising and sponsorship relationships remain separate from independent editorial coverage.

Our Standard

We are not looking for people who can simply make a story sound exciting.

We are looking for people who can make a real story exciting.

That difference matters.

The GossipOpi standard is:

Be accurate. Be sharp. Be fast. Never fake it.
